Durango was recently picked as one of the “Coolest Towns in America” by Men’s Journal Magazine. Something we’ve all known for years, but is a nice reminder of just how great this town and area are. The featured story talked about the multitude of outdoor recreation activities, as well as the ambiance of the city, local hospitality and community structure.
A few months after this article hit the stands, Durango topped the list of the top Micropolitan Communities in the country. We’ve been listed in the top ten for the past several years, but came in at #1 in 2011. Micropolitan Communities are ranked on several different criteria, including: size, demographics, education level of citizens, social scene, lifestyle attributes and much more.
